SUMMARY:TATR - The Adirondack Trail Ride 2023
DESCRIPTION:The six-million acre Adirondack Park is a mix of public and private lands\, and is a patchwork of state land designations that categorize each public parcel into distinct land use classifications.  Because of this\, linking sections of rideable trail to complete the route was a challenge.  But in the end\, it is an adventure that stays true to the Adirondack Park:  A journey from the southern foothills to the rugged interior\, and on to the vast north and the picturesque Champlain Valley.  It is a loop through a beautiful and diverse eastern wilderness on trail\, pavement\, and dirt road. Riders pass through small towns\, cycle past lakes dotted with quintessential “camps”\, and take on quiet backroads and pass nary another person. Much of the route leaves populated areas and takes the rider to parts of the park seldom visited. TATR satisfies that need to get “out there”. \nLive Tracking\n\nThe Adirondacks are uniquely challenging – riders should not be fooled by the lack of elevation – the climbs may be short\, but they are usually steep.  Potential long distances between resupply\, the wild nature of the trails\, remote dirt roads\, and quickly changing weather should all factor into a rider’s planning.  Although the route does not go through the highest peaks\, these mountains are rugged and will put any rider to the test. \n

DESCRIPTION:Riders may choose a short\, long-weekend-long route (The Jello Salad) or a more immersive 750+ mile-ish session (The Funeral Potato)\, both of which start and return participants to Salt Lake City. The Jello Salad is new for 2023\, and the Funeral Potato will continue the tradition of providing new segments and sights each year. There are going to be small sections of the route that past UME riders will find familiar. However\, the 2023 route does not follow any of the past years’ routes for more than a few miles.  \nThere may be themed office party tasks assigned to attendees.There will be a lot of puns\, metaphors\, and general silliness surrounding the conference\, but it is the board’s intention to create a challenging\, rewarding\, scenic\, and fun route that accommodates any bicycle you are willing to ride. DESCRIPTION:September 8-10th 2023 The 2nd Annual Hodag Country Ramble \nTwo nights of swimming\, camping\, community\, riding and revelry just outside of Rhinelander\, Wisconsin in the heart of the beautiful Northwoods.  \nRoute: A mix of two track\, gravel\, and pavement – 25\, 50\, 85 mile options. A gravel bike or hardtail will work great. I’d recommend a minimum tire size of 38c.  \nRide fast or take it slow\, all options are valid. Route will wind its way through National Forest Land\, private logging acreage\, quiet pavement\, and high quality gravel. There are convenience stores on all routes except the 25 mile and a stocked mid-ride rest stop on the long loop. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Shield Bikepacking Route is a bikepacking route unlike any other in the region. At 1300km in length and with nearly 17\,000 metres of climbing\, there is no other route that can provide the same amount of challenge. This route will take you through\, over and across some of the most rugged and beautiful parts of Western Quebec. With the vast majority of the route being unpaved\, this route takes you over hills and mountains\, around beautiful hard to reach lakes\, on some of the best rail trail in the region and along backcountry roads that are for the most part free of traffic. \nWithin close proximity of Ottawa and Montreal\, the Canadian Shield Bikepacking Route isn’t too far away from an access point. Featuring national and provincial parks\, ski hills\, nature reserves and rail trail\, the route will take you through forests that were once the building block of this country. \nThe CSBR is a combination of three challenging routes through Western Quebec: the Canadian Shield 400 and the Northwest Quebec Explorer\, two routes which make up the Canadian Shield 1000. To add even more adventure\, the Trouble in Tremblant loop adds another 300km and 5000 metres of elevation to the itinerary. This route is designed to take you through some of the most difficult terrain in the region and reward you with epic scenery\, amazing riding and an adventure you will never forget. \nFor this adventure\, you have the option of three different distances: 400km\, 1000km\, and 1300km. It’s highly recommended to use a mountain bike or gravel bike that can accept plus-sized tires. \n

DESCRIPTION:Much like the CTR\, the AZT\, and the Tour Divide\, the Black Hills Expedition is a self-supported\, self-timed ITT (Individual Time Trial) bikepacking race. We provide a route description and GPX file\, a suggested start time\, and a list of results. There is no registration\, no entry fee\, and no support. \nWhile there’s blacktop\, gravel\, and grass-covered fields\, most of the route is awesome Black Hills singletrack. Seven percent of the course is hike-a-bike over super rocky trails. DESCRIPTION:The Journey will begin in Spring Hill Florida\, and take us along the Weeki Wachee\, and Chazowitzka Corridors north to Crystal River. Along the way\, we will seize every opportunity for swimming\, good food\, and liquids. The following day we will do more of the same\, linking up bikepaths and good roads to dirt eventually looping back south along Citrus WMA and onto the Suncoast trail wrapping up this 104-mile overnight journey. \nThis is the perfect ride for someone who is new to bikepacking or an experienced rider who is unable to get away for a longer 3-day trip. The recommended tire width is 50mm and above or two-inch tire\, and up.
